FAREWELL LAD !

after 19 years in the game, 6 of them (95'-01) being of service to the glorious MAN. UTD., the great Andrew Cole hangs his jersey to rest today after announcing his retirement. after beginning his professional with arsenal in 1989, he leaves the club in 1992 after only just one appearance. After signing for Newcastle United in 1993 from Bristol City, Cole bagged 34 goals in his first season to help the Magpies return to the top-flight. The PFA young player of the year for the 1993-94 season.

Cole's goals for Newcastle earn him a £7m transfer to Manchester United in January 1995.After winning a call-up to the England squad, Coles makes his debut against Uruguay in 1995. In his first full season at United - 1995-96 - Cole wins the Premier League and FA Cup Double.

Cole plays a key role as United secure a historic treble in 1999 as the club win the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League, but despite his success at United, Cole struggles on the international stage and makes only 15 appearances, scoring just once.

In 2001 Cole leaves United and joins Blackburn and in his first season he scores the winning goal against Tottenham in the League Cup final. Cole leaves Blackburn to join Fulham in 2004 where he makes 31 league appearances, scoring 12 times. Continuing on his travels, Coles finds his opportunities limited at Manchester City.





Cole joins his home town team, Nottingham Forest, in July 2008, but after only making only 11 appearances he leaves the club in October and announces his retirement.
