vice-versa ?

while one's said to be goin back to europe, is another comin to the states ?

While is was said today, as a rumor of course, that david beckham will be headed back to AC Milan this up comin january. the move is a tactic of Beckham's, as he is looking for slot spot in Capello's England squad for the up coming summer dance, the 2010 World Cup.

But also, it has been said that Barcelona and France striker Thierry Henry, is now not only linked with a move to MAN UTD rivals MAN CITY, but it seems that MLS side New York Red Bulls is keen on bringing the french-man to the states. can a KEY starting role and U.S. fame bring the Barca striker to the big apple ? and if so, can it cost him HIS role for the upcoming World Cup ?

8th in 08', 9th in 09'

once again ... off broxton. i was there for stairs' 2-run shot last year in the 8th inning of game four, ball actually landed a few rows behind my seats. but after last night's beating, then tonight's battle ... jimmy's 2-run, walk-off double just stung a bit more. for the fact that this is a better dodgers team than last years, yet, are slumping pretty bad this deep into october and are now on the verge of playing the last game of the year on wednesday. hope hamels pitches like he did in game one and "chente" throws his game 2 magic again.

VEJA-O MAIS TARDE !

its kinda funny, i have a horrible memory, but i do remember hearing about christiano ronaldo back in 2003 when he still played in portugal with sporting lisbon. as a manchester united fan, i was pleased to hear he was signed that summer and still remember his debut match against bolton that year. the past six years of watching him grow with the worlds best, henry, gerrard, terry, lampard, shearer, bergkamp, barthez, anelka, ljunberg, gudjohnsen, davids, etc ... and at only 18, he was one among those names. i also remember him not wanting to wear the #7 due to the talent that has passed thru those old trafford halls with that number, best, contana, beckham. i think hes filled the position just fine. as a man utd fan, its gonna suck seeing him leave, but it is something every kid wants to do as footballer, play for the best, and real is one of the best clubs in the world. its been in his wishes for the past couple years. after roumors and gossip of him leaving last summer, i was glad he stayed. it wouldve been nice toping off his last year with that CL victory, but thats football. to say well never see him back in a man u jersey is ducky ... but still a possibility. everyone says his a bitch and over rated, arrogant, stuborn, whiny, whatever ... but denying hes one of the best you cant. i wish him the best in spain and the rest of his career. this aint a goodbye or farewell, but a "see you later".
P.S. - this is gonna leave the doors open for macheda and perhaps some big summer signing ??

"OFFICIAL MANNYWOOD BALL"

manny people just flat out dont believe this story, and im sure the people ill tell from here on out wont believe it either ... but like ive been sayin', i dont need their "ok".

june 3rd, 2009 ... while on "break" from school, i decided to take a stadium tour at Chavez Ravine, dodgers stadium. its pretty much a "behind the scenes" tour for those of us that cant afford a luxury suite or dugout club seats. it was a great visit to dodgers stadium, i got to see what the McCourt's have in stored for the ravine in upcoming years. visited the Tommy Lasorda Training Center as well as a timline of history. but the biggest parts of the tour for me were entering Vinnys press box and having the opportunity to sit in HIS ACTUAL CHAIR !!! now what i forgot to mention was that not only was i THE ONLY "TOURIST" that day, but the infamous manny ramirez was there that morning too for a little training of his own. while in the press box i watched manny take some swings in BP just hearing his thunderous bat just driving some out, unfortunantly i was not allowed to take any type of pictures or vids of him AT ALL. a bit after that, he had to run into the locker room due to a kuik rain out. not expecting him to come out, i got to step on the field and into the dugout. after taking some pix on the field it was time for the dug out. after a couple pix i saw a water bottle a half eaten powerbar, manny of course. while taking a picture in the dugout, i hear someone walk out, i turn around, and there he was !, 6 foot, 215LB beast of a guy ........ i was STAR STRUCT !!!!!

only being able to say "whats up", "haha", and "alright man, ill see ya", just cuz i didnt know what to say, joe, my tour guide, did most of the talking with many. after crakin' a joke about his suspension, and explaining whats his been practicing in training, i had my chance to get a kuik "john handcock" of his ..... and beilieve me, i will kick myself in the ass for the rest of my life because i was running late for the tour, AND LEFT ME SHARPIE IN THE CAR !!!! ... but manny being the swell guy he is, reached into the bucket of his BP balls, grabs one, and hands it to me saying, AND I QUOTE !, "how you come to dodgers stadium with no pen man ?? haha, but check it out man, (grabs ball, hands it to me) OFFICIAL MANNYWOOD BALL, haha". i was just shocked, i was like a a deer at the headlights. then he said his parting words AND I QUOTE ! "ok 'papi', ill see you next time ok." grabbed his powerbar and water and headed to the dressing room.

not your tipical story, which i can understand why people dont believe me. i had not autograph, no pictures, no video, no nothin ... just a dirty ball.

from the cubs, all the way to the dodgers ...

He's at the podium right now thanking all the fans, media and teammates for all the years he's had in baseball.

The media received a binder on Maddux and, as you can imagine, it's fairly thick with impressive stats. A quick reminder: 355 career wins, one World Championship (1995 with the Braves), 18 Gold Golves and four Cy Youngs. There's no doubt he's a Hall of Famer.

"I think somebody will win that many games again," Maddux said. "It might be some kid in seventh grade. I think players today play longer and they take care of themselves better."

Not surprisingly, the room is packed.
